Well finally it really is summer! What a funny time the last few months has been! Summer weather in March and then winter weather in April- we actually put the wood stove back on right at the end of April- yuck! It has been such a long slow spring, no one really knows what to make of it. Do we plant flowers? Do we bring out our summer clothes? Do we turn off the furnace? When will the leaves be out all the way? Anyways looks like finally we can say yes! And open our windows to the warm air and sunshine that is out there in the summer in North Simcoe!
We are really enjoying our new home at this time of year. Washago is full of bird life and living next to the woods we are right in the thick of it! Lots and lots of woodpeckers, hawks, ducks, other waterfowl, and some calls that I haven’t been able to identify yet! The woods are turning from a black and white and grey landscape to a lovely soft green and every day the rocks behind the trees disappear even more into the lovely emerald landscape-exciting and mysterious!
As usual, bring the summertime on and with it comes tons of events and happenings in the North Simcoe area! Every weekend is chock a block with exciting things to do and see in our area. The Coldwater Canadiana Museum is open again, the OMAH in Orillia is having a Sir Sam Steele Day, Coldwater And Area Studio Tour is on, there are Canada Day parades and fun in every town and city in the area, music festivals, car shows, flea markets, trade shows…the list goes on and on!
Check out our ads, coming events, A and E shorts, and all of our local news columns to make sure you don’t miss anything! And check us out online as we add happenings daily to our calendar of events as they come in at www.NorthSimcoeNews.com. If you have an event coming up, make sure to send it to us so we can make our website the place to go for happenings in North Simcoe. We want to support YOUR community event so send it to us!
Enjoy the summertime here in Ontario’s playground!
